Breakfast & Refreshments
Morning is a very special time of day for us here at The Rookwood Inn. We start brewing coffee around 7 a.m. so that you may awaken to its aroma wafting up to your room. A full breakfast, served buffet-style, is available from 8:30 to 10 a.m.at individual tables in our dining room. On summer days, guests often bring their breakfast, or coffee, outside to the veranda and enjoy the gardens
Breakfast always consists of a hot entree, alternating between a sweet dish (e.g. Breakfast Pie, French Toast Strata) and a savory one (e.g. Berkshire Eggs Benedict, Berkshire Morning Egg Puff), along with a fruit dish, hot and cold cereals, yogurts, cottage cheese, hard boiled eggs, and a bread product. Scrambled eggs are always available for those who prefer that option. We use locally grown and/or organic produce whenever possible.
We pride ourselves on being sensitive to the dietary needs and restrictions of our guests and will make every effort to accommodate them. Please let us know if you need any modifications. Gluten-free, dairy-free, low-fat, high protein, vegetarian, vegan….these diets don’t upset us, but we would like to know in advance of breakfast so that we may shop and prepare for your needs.
Each afternoon we have refreshments waiting for our guests in the dining room. In cold weather you might find hot apple cider along with teas and hot chocolate to accompany a home-baked delight or cheese platter or hot hors d’oeuvres. In warm weather, herbal iced tea, iced coffee and lemonade will wet your whistle.
