Berkshire Coaching Weekend

Relive the Gilded Age through the elegance of coaching, one of the most popular activities of the time for sporting ladies and gentlemen.

Beginning Saturday, October 11th, 2014, historic and meticulously restored horse-drawn coaches will travel the roads and lanes of Lenox and Stockbridge during the annual Berkshire Coaching Weekend. The first day’s stop is Shakespeare & Co., for a presentation and commentary of the coaches.

On October 12th, the coaches will travel to the Norman Rockwell Museum, which will include a coach horn demonstration, in addition to the presentation and commentary.

October 13th is the final event day, during which the coaches will journey around Stockbridge and Lenox, ending at Edith Wharton’s Estate and Gardens, The Mount. Bring a picnic lunch, and enjoy the sprawling gardens and air of a bygone era.

And after these exciting days of historic wonderment and exploration, The Rookwood Inn welcomes you to rest your head on our comfy beds, before setting out on another day’s adventure. Book an October 11-13th long-weekend suite today.
